Manipulation and measurement of the electromagnetic spectrum has given rise in science to a vast array of instrumentation that measures how atoms, molecules, and compounds, as crystals, gases, liquids as aerosols and dispersions or solutions, absorb or emit radiation of specific wavelengths when challenged with radiation or variations in magnetic frequencies as in NMR imaging. Spectral data can be used to identify and quantify information about substances using these measurements. This section will review products and technologies that have been miniaturized or show promise for use in UAVs.
