UXV University Course Information

Welcome to Unmanned Systems University Online

Unmanned System University is the first University in the World dedicated to higher education in Unmanned Air, Ground and Sea Systems. All courses are taught online over a 12 week quarter.

To learn the basics of UAS take the Executive Certificate Course in UAS.

The school also offers Master's and PhD programs in Unmanned Systems Engineering.

Online Course Details

All courses are taught online using several tools including Blackboard, pre-recorded videos and WebEx conferencing depending on the course. The instructor will use these tools to provide a high quality learning environment.

Courses taught with blackboard will be more collaborative with discussions and research paper assignments. The Unmanned courses and some systems engineering course will be suitable for this environment.

For technical courses that involve problem solving, videos and WebEx web conferencing will be used to demonstrate problem solving methods. A link is emailed to each student every week before the class starts. Students can participate in the course from their computer or iPhone.

Executive Certificate Course - Umanned Aircraft Systems

This certificate course is for those that just want to learn the basics of Unmanned Aircraft Systems. The course touches on all major UAV areas and requires no science or mathematics background. Courses are taught online over 8 weeks. Presentations will be available for download. There are no problems or exams assigned. Candidates will learn UAV/UAS systems, communications, data links, payloads, control, types, roles and operations. The current state of airspace integration into the NAS and regulations is also addressed. A professional diploma with a list of course topics will be mailed at the end of the course. Cost is $999.

Executive Certificate Topics Covered

The following topics are critical for an in depth understanding of Unmanned Aircraft Vehicles: UAV Components, UAS Communications & Data Links, UAS Sensors & Characteristics, UAV Ground Control Systems, Civil UAS Types, Roles and Operations, Small UASs, Civil Airspace Integration, Sense and Avoid Systems, UAS Mishaps, Causes of Failure, Improving Reliability, Human Machine Interface, UAS Alternative Propulsion (Fuel Cells and Solar), UAS Navigation, UAS Autonomous Operations, UAS Swarming, Future UAS Roles & Technologies. Graduates will receive a professional diploma with a list of the course topics.

Non Degree Courses
